This issue of PM arrived in the mail the very day we started collaborating on the project.

This September marks the 10th anniversary of National Preparedness Month here in the US.  It also commemorates the attacks on our way of life that occurred on September 11, 2001.  It is the individual responsibility of every citizen to be prepared in the event of an emergency.  This preparedness can take several forms and can be exercised in various degrees.  Ultimately, we view September as the month each year when we give thanks for the aspects of our country that we appreciate.  We also recognize that unplanned and unexpected events might interrupt our lives, but the self-reliant nature of Americans will help us weather such interruptions.

Survive Anything is a private undertaking that is directly in line with the initiative of preparedness.  Although we are quickly approaching October, we felt it was important to coordinate the launch of the site with National Preparedness Month.  Even a soft launch will start getting feedback and help us work out the kinks that are bound to arise with any new project.  Survive Anything is a passion project several months in the making.    After all the planning and discussion, it is time to go live.

Our mission is pretty simple.  We aim to provide the highest quality content on the topics of survival, self-reliance, and preparedness. Over time we will focus on all environments, cover common and uncommon situations, and offer up tips and tricks to get you through both everyday life as well as the once in a lifetime crises.  We will review gear, equipment, books, and movies.   We will endeavor to be a quality resource for you, your family, and your community.   Occasionally, we may even include a light-hearted article to help put a smile on your face.

We want Survive Anything to balance quality content with active discussions and moderation.  We are leaving the politics, religion, and tinfoil hats at the door.   This site needs to appeal to the widest audience possible so that we may help as many people as we can.  Over time you also may notice not all our authors have the same opinions on certain topics and personal philosophies will vary.  This is by design.  Right now we have a basic blog format.  The site layout will evolve over time.  As content grows, we will restructure and organize accordingly to assist the reader with sifting through the volumes of content that will accrue.

Finally, if you have a suggestion for an article, want to contribute content to the site, or find a bug in the system please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for stopping by and we hope you find the site valuable as you move towards a more prepared way of life.  Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook and Twitter.
